Seeli Seelisberg

Watch

Since I am a little boy, I was fishing in a small mountain lake called Seeli in Seelisberg. Now I was wondering, how all the fishes are living in this small mountain lake and how it looks like underwater. I did my studies as a Microbiologist in a very special mountain lake (Lago di Cadagno) in the Alps. Now I am interested in a better understanding of this small mountain lake Seeli in Seelisberg, in the central part of Switzerland. As a first mission, I created this year a high resolution Sonar Map of the lake. As a second step, I would like to explore interesting sites with my OpenROV. I also would be interested in collection more physical, chemical parameters (such as pH, O2, Turbidity and Temperature) during the dives, in order to understand the biology of this lake better. My next mission is now to build the Open ROV 2.8 and start exploring the different habitats of this lake next spring. Read background

Summary Video of my Dives. I made a sensor to make light and temperature depth profile with a openROV battery tube and some open source electronics. This sensor bar can easy mounted on my ROV during dives.
